Privacy policy
Last updated — June 3, 2026
This policy explains what personal data 11EDGE processes, on what basis, and how data subjects can exercise their rights. It covers two distinct categories: (1) data of site visitors and users, and (2) the performance data of professional table tennis players, which is the core of our analytics service. It complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data controller
11EDGE, publisher of the site (see legal notice). For any data-protection question or to exercise your rights, contact: contact@11edge.io, subject 'GDPR request'.
2. Scope
11EDGE processes two distinct sets of data. First, the data of site visitors and users (sections 3 to 7). Second, the public performance data of professional table tennis players, which powers our rankings, statistics and analyses (sections 8 to 13).
3. User data collected
During your visit, we only collect data strictly necessary for the service: email address (via Clerk, our authentication provider) if you create an account; technical session cookies (Clerk); language preference ('locale' cookie); Cloudflare Turnstile anti-bot fingerprint. No advertising or behavioural tracking data is collected. Any audience measurement is performed without cookies and without identifying personal data.
4. Purposes and legal bases (users)
Account authentication and management: contract performance (GDPR art. 6-1-b). Service security (anti-bot, rate-limiting): legitimate interest (art. 6-1-f). Language preference: legitimate interest (usability).
5. Data recipients (users)
Clerk, Inc. (authentication, hosted in the United States — transfers governed by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses). Cloudflare, Inc. (Turnstile anti-bot and CDN, USA — same safeguards). Hostinger International Ltd. (server hosting, Cyprus / EU). No resale, rental or commercial sharing of your data.
6. Retention period (users)
User account: kept while the account is active, then deleted within 3 years after last login. Technical cookies: session expiry (Clerk) or 12 months (language preference). Security logs: 12 months maximum.
7. Your rights (users)
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection regarding your data. You may also withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email contact@11edge.io with the subject 'GDPR request'. If dissatisfied, you may file a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL, www.cnil.fr) or your local EU data protection authority.
8. Player data: nature and purposes
11EDGE processes data about professional table tennis players in order to provide rankings, performance statistics, head-to-head histories and predictive analyses. These processing activities serve a sports-information and statistical-analysis purpose. The data subjects are professional athletes competing in public competitions.
9. Categories of data processed (players)
Player name; nationality; year of birth; gender (competition category, men's singles / women's singles); sporting performance data (match results, set scores, official rankings, derived statistics, aggregated odds). No special-category data within the meaning of GDPR article 9 is processed. No private contact details (address, phone, personal email) are collected.
10. Legal basis: legitimate interest
The processing of player data relies on 11EDGE's legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6-1-f) in providing a statistical analysis service for competitive table tennis. This interest is balanced against the rights of the data subjects. The data processed consists solely of professional performance data already made public in the context of official competitions; the impact on privacy is low; no decision producing legal effects on individuals is made. A Legitimate Interest Assessment (LIA) documents this balancing test and is available to the supervisory authority.
11. Data sources (players)
All player data comes from public sources: official rankings published by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and by World Table Tennis (WTT); results and schedules of public competition matches, obtained via a sports-data aggregator (BetsAPI). 11EDGE does not collect any data directly from players and does not process any non-public source.
12. Retention period (players)
Sporting performance data is kept with no predefined time limit, as it has lasting historical and statistical value (ranking histories, past head-to-heads). It may be rectified or erased at the request of a data subject under the conditions set out in section 13.
13. Rights of the players concerned
Any player whose data appears on 11EDGE has the rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection to processing (GDPR art. 15 to 21). As the processing relies on legitimate interest, the right to object may be exercised on grounds relating to the data subject's particular situation. To exercise these rights, email contact@11edge.io with the subject 'GDPR request — player'. We will handle your request within one month. You may also file a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
14. Changes
This policy may evolve. Any substantial change will be notified on this page with a new update date.
